There’s so much new makeup/beauty out and I love talking about new releases so I figured we’d do this again! I get all my new makeup release and info from @Trendmood1. Her account is mostly makeup, I wish it had more skincare but I feel like skincare releases are a little bit harder to pinpoint if it’s not from a huge brand. I’m a skincare junkie but I love playing with new makeup!
I find new skincare/skincare releases from other accounts so I’ll include those here too! I’m loving Indie and K-beauty brands so you sort of just have to follow the brand to see what new product they’re releasing.
Let’s take a look and talk about new makeup releases! And skincare!!
Eyeing
Too Faced is coming out with a fruit collection and I actually love the idea. They have done peaches in the past so fruit is kind of overdone for them but still vibing with it! They did a matte peach collection for Sephora so they’re doing a dewy fruit collection with Ulta! I love dewy skin as you guys know so I think I will be all over that setting spray! I have yet to find a dewy setting spray that I love so hoping this is it. I feel like it’ll smell good too!
Here are the bronzer/ lip glosses. Pretty but I don’t think I need them. I love a shimmery bronzer, trust, but doesn’t that sort of look like highlighter?
This sugar lip scrub sounds amazing and I love that it’s a chemical exfoliating serum as opposed to a sugar scrub. I get chapped lips, especially in the winter so I could totally get on board with this product. Plus, it’s only $26.
The Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palettes got a new release and it’s Aug. 14. I didn’t try her last Morphe palette and I’ve heard really great things! I think I’ll be getting the two warmer toned ones. I hear the quality is supposed to be amazing and they’re $15 each. This one of my favorite new makeup releases. The warm-toned palette looks gorgeous and I’m excited to see how they’ll perform, especially given that they cancelled the first release due to inconsistencies in production!
This isn’t new, but new to me! It’s the Krave Beauty, Kale-Lalu-yAHA 5% glycolic acid, exfoliating toner. I love chemical exfoliation and exfoliating toners. They have made a huge difference for my skin and people rave about this brand. It’s only $25 too which is really good for a chemical exfoliator.
Won’t Be Buying!
This mini Natasha Denona Palette looks gorgeous but not for $48. Doesn’t that seem crazy? I get that ND is expensive but for $50 I’d rather buy a new, normal sized palette. If I splurge on Natasha Denona it’ll be one of the big palettes because this one just seems pointless.
I actually went to the Kylie Popup in LA where she had the birthday collection out early and honestly just didn’t see anything I needed. I think the shadows felt chalky, I had fallout when I swatched them and the lips were brighter and I like her more neutral shades. At the popup, I did get a velvet lip of hers and I love the formula because they’re comfortable and long-lasting. Though they won’t make it through a meal! I know that first hand. LOL.
This collection is an easy no. Nothing stands out to me and I’m not loving the packaging. All the new makeup releases with glitter or metallic lipsticks? Do people really wear those often? Please correct me if I’m wrong but they’re so many out now and I don’t see people talking about them or wearing them.
This new Becca foundation really reminds me of the It Cosmetics CC cream. I think the collection is a good idea but it’s nothing new and exciting. The foundation has been done before, so have illuminating, shimmery primers/serums and so have the glowy, dewy sticks.
Give us a shimmer, tinted sunscreen that’s actually sunscreen or a new highlighting balm that can be used all over. IDK something new.
Did we talk about the Beauty Blender foundation? It’s a hard no for me and the shade range was shitty and they had so many excuses as to why it wasn’t their fault. Blaming Trendmood1 for saying she filtered the picture and it made the foundation shades look more orange? Come on. I mean, a lot of brands don’t do inclusive shade ranges. For example, I love the It Cosmetics cc cream but terrible shade range! Fix it! Don’t make excuses. I think instead of making excuses and talking about it, fix it, make it better and you’ll have people talking for the better.
First Aid Beauty, this shade range is atrocious. Maybe it’s for highlighting but there’s not enough shades or tones for pale people or darker skin tones. I’m trying to be more cognizant of brands that aren’t inclusive and trying to steer clear of them. This one is blatantly non-inclusive. I can’t imagine wanting to try a new product and a brand not even making my shade! Fix it, First Aid Beauty.
