I was in New York last week and whenever I’m in a new city I love too look and see what beauty and skincare stores they have! It’s just the beauty lover in me but New York is seriously a great option for beauty products. Here’s what made the cut:
Ricky’s NYC.
Ricky’s has multiple locations all over New York. They’re a beauty supply store but they care brands like Bioderma, Embryolisse, Cosrx, Oribe, Violet Voss, NYX Morphe and The Ordinary. ( which for the record I am no longer a fan of but I can attest to the fact that their stuff is hard to find in store!) They also have a huge section of hair toners, dyes and coloring supplies! I make sure to get some Bioderma every time I’m in New York because Ricky’s is the only store I’ve ever been too that has it!
They have all the different Bioderma lines.
Embryolisse and Cosrx. Both hard to find in stores!
Olaplex. if you need a hair mask this is a God send. My #1 recommendation and its also harder to find in store or even online. (beware of fakes!)
Glossier. 123 Lafayette Street. Lafayette and Canal for your cab driver 😉
This mirror is right near the elevator.
If you like beauty you know Glossier so I had to include this because their only show room is in New York! Its located in little Italy and its a teeny tiny penthouse that is always jam packed. For example you have to wait in line to get in the elevator to get up to the showroom. I’m still deciding if I like Glossier — not sure if its that good or if its really just over hyped and very well marketed. I think the showroom is a one time visit and done. It’s all millennial pink; cute, VERY aesthetically pleasing and even better for pictures…but super hyped up. It’s tiny and very crowded so I don’t see a need to ever go back.
They have all their products out to sample and you fill out a note card of what you want, pay and then wait for them to call your name with your bag of products. I got lidstars and a review of that will be up soon!
Outside with the Glossier banners.
One of the testing areas.
the sink area. that Byredo Burning rose candle smells AMAZNG. The whole show room smells so good.
I almost got the Glossier You solid perfume but I didn’t and I’m not too upset. Peep my dunks I can’t put down!
Another jam packed sample area. Hint its always jam packed.
Sample Sales
I went to the Space NK sample sale while in New York and it was an awesome sale with killer prices. Heres the post I wrote on that. I totally recommend checking for sample sales while you’re there.
The next Space NK sale won’t be for a while but heres what I got. Prices were around 70% + off. I paid $20 for a normal $100 Eve Lom moisturizer.
Duane Reade
Duane Reade is basically a CVS with a kicked up beauty section. They have them on just about every corner and I wish they would branch out past New York! I live for their Avene section. They make the best skincare for dry, sensitive skin hands down. I always pick of the Skin Recovery Cream in the rich version. I haven’t found it in any stores besides Duane Reade so its a must.
They also have the Balm cosmetics and I didn’t end up getting some but I want to try their bronzers and highlighters!

HONORABLE MENTIONS.
Sephora
I like Sephora in New York because they’re massive! For instance everyone I went to had a Natasha Denona section and I haven’t seen that in a while. I was able to find some stuff I haven’t seen in many stores.
Ulta
Sure they’re everywhere but I like the Ulta on 86th because it has a huge Mac section and it carries all the Colourpop stuff!
C.O Bigelow Apothecaries
Sort of like a kicked up pharmacy with a bunch of different skincare and beauty products. I didn’t go here but its on my list for next time and I’ve heard good things.
oo35mm
Looking at the location and I’m so mad I didn’t go here because it’s down the street from Glossier! Ugh and its all Asian beauty which is my weakness. I got enough while was in NY so its probably for the better but def want to check this out! I also head back in a month. 😉
Credo Beauty
They carry high end, all natural beauty products. I want to check this store out and they also have locations in NY, Boston and LA!
Space NK
Space NK has a normal store and they have everything from Kevyn Aucoin to Ren to Eve Lom to Malin + Gotez to Byredo!
Blue Mercury
I saw so many of these while I was there. They have high end makeup and skincare. Think Tom Ford, Bobbi Brown, Clarins, Diptyque, RMS, Oribe and YSL to name a few.
Thats what made the cut for my NY beauty crawl. Any places you swear by for beauty prouducts? Lemme know! Please! 🙂
I definitely need to hit up all these beauty spots next time I’m in NYC! Thanks for sharing!
