First Impressions

So much for my month of not buying beauty products!  I don’t think January is the best time to do it because theres so many new releases.  Excuses I know, I wasn’t very good at it!  I do have some new stuff to review though, lol, so were going to say its a win for all!
I have pretty much loved everything wet n wild that I’ve tried. When I saw the cushion foundations they came out with I knew I had to try it because I love the light and dewy coverage that cushions offer.  Basically I aspire to try cushion everything.  I wore this yesterday for the first time and I really like it! The coverage is very light and skin like.  With light coverage freckles will still poke through which I really like.  The smell of this product is AMAZING.  So light, clean and fresh.  Its perfect and in no way overpowering or chemically.   In comparison to the Maybelline Lumi cushion foundation I enjoy this one MUCH better…and I liked the Maybelline one, too!  First off the color, ‘buff beige’ is my perfect match so I don’t have to apply it everywhere to be the same color.  I like the coverage of this so much better than the Maybelline one.  It feels lighter and looks more like skin…if you want more coverage than maybe Maybelline is better for you. This can be built up but its lighter coverage.   The Maybelline one also smells like weird rubber and is about $15 while this is $9 I believe.  If you’re gonna pick one I 100% say this one for smell, coverage and overall.

Wet n Wild Hello Halo highlighter.  I was very impressed this product. The bottle is glass, very uncommon in drugstore makeup but it feels nice and luxurious. It has the same applicator as Tarte Shape Tape! A big doe foot applicator that makes it super easy to apply. It goes on like a liquid and dries like a powder so it wears very well. You can build it up to make it a really intense highlighter or can wear a little bit under powder highlighter. I say a little bit because this dries to powder!  The color is super pigmented and packs a shimmering glow. They sort of remind me of the Cover FX highlighter drops but these are thicker and less foiled looking on the skin.  I didn’t like the way the Cover FX drops look on my skin (tin foil face paint sweat) so for me I really enjoy this better! It didn’t separate with the wet n wild foundation under it and I liked how it wore. I’m going to continue to play with it but I think its one of the better cream drugstore highlighters! Wet n wild also has some really great pressed highlighters at the drugstore!
The cushion has spf 15 but I’m making a habit of wearing spf with everything and this Smashbox primer helps. 15 isn’t a lot but I’m trying!
