January Beauty Faves

I love watching monthly beauty favorites on Youtube so I figured why don’t I do that! I love love love beauty products and I truly enjoy finding new ones and reading about whats great. Winter beauty is something I’m still trying to figure out. These are some of my winter favorites.

  1. Mario Badescu rosewater spray!  I use this as a primer before makeup as well as to set my makeup after. It helps keep my face dewy and moisturized.  It’s cold and snowy at school and this spray really helps my face have life in the cold.  I love using this spray for a refresher after naps too. Haha.
  2. I got this Bumble and Bumble pret-a-powder last year and used it a few times and wasn’t sure if I liked it.  I found it at home over break and used it and I love it!  My hair gets very flat so this helps to give it a boost at the roots without making it frizzy or sticky.  I also have darker roots growing in so I like to use powders to make them less harsh looking…though I think I am the only one that notices hah.  I think I didn’t like this at first because it gives your hair a VERY chalky texture if you use TOO much.  You can always add more but you can’t take away so I add it in little bits. Once you find out how much to use for your hair, it’s a very easy product to use. This is also a really good dry shampoo. My hair gets oily on day two and I really prefer to leave my hair down when it’s cold because it keeps me warmer and this allows me to do so.
  3. Flower highlighting stick.  Since getting back to school my makeup routine has gotten more relaxed, I use CC cream, this highlighter and mascara.  If you are looking for a glitter, shimmering highlighter then this is not it.  This one gives more of a glow with some sheen which I have really been liking especially for a more relaxed, low-key look.  It’s buildable coverage so you can get more shimmer if you use more.  It’s a cream base which I like to use in the winter instead of a powder because I get very dry! Overall, it’s really easy to apply and is a great option for drugstore highlighters!
